City Unveils “Touch the Sky” Sculpture at Community Center

The City of San Rafael is proud to announce the installation of "Touch the Sky,"a new public art sculpture now on display in front of the San Rafael Community Center.

Created by artist Martin Taylor, the steel figure features a dynamic form with silver accents, designed to capture a sense of motion, light, and upward aspiration. The piece is part of the City's broader Downtown Public Art initiative in partnership with the Downtown San Rafael Art District to bring vibrant, engaging artwork to highly visible community spaces.

"Touch the Sky" will be temporarily located at the San Rafael Community Center before moving to its permanent home at the 2ndand 4thStreet intersection later this year, continuing to enhance San Rafael's growing Arts District.

Residents and visitors are invited to stop by, experience the artwork up close, and celebrate the role of public art in bringing creativity and connection to our community.
