Call for student applications: Sun Valley Field School for artists and creatives

The School of the Arts seeks student applications for its Sun Valley Field School, taking place from August 11-15, 2026.

The field school is for students interested in creative careers. It will feature four days of hands-on learning opportunities in Sun Valley, Idaho, working with musicians, gallery owners, filmmakers, writers, curators and arts leaders. Participants will get behind-the-scenes access to galleries, festivals, performances and creative organizations.

Students selected to participate will also receive course credit for their work in the field school.

To apply, students must:

  • Have a declared major, minor or certificate in a department within the School of the Arts. See departments and programs.
  • Have a 3.0 GPA and be in good standing with the university.
  • Be available for the five-day program and pre-field school meetings in July and August.
  • Have upper division standing.

Applications are due April 15, 2026. Students accepted into the field school will be notified on May 1, 2026.
