DSEI 2025: Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles HX 10x10 Heavy Repair & Recovery Vehicle – robust and reliable, system-compatible

What applies to combat vehicles also applies to recovery vehicles: they must be designed as a system in order to perform their tasks optimally on today's battlefields, but also in rear areas. With the HX10x10 Heavy Repair & Recovery Vehicle, Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles (RMMV) is presenting just such a recovery system at DSEI 2025.

The HX10x10 Heavy Repair & Recovery Vehicle enables the safe and efficient recovery of military and civilian vehicles, even in hazardous environments. A 540 hp engine ensures high mobility and outstanding off-road capability. The fully integrated recovery system includes a Rotzler TR200 constant-pull capstan winch with a pulling force of up to 250 kN. In addition, there are two Rotzler Tarvos TA15 winches for rotator operation with a pulling force of up to 100 kN and up to 55kN for lifting operations. The hydraulic boom can be rotated 360 degrees and extends up to 10 metres. It can lift up to 13 tonnes at an elevation of 30 degrees. Other features include a 1.50-metre extendable underlift for hook loads of up to 15 tonnes. The vehicle also features the new Rotzler APEX. This modern control system improves safety, cyber security and user-friendliness in complex recovery systems. The HX10x10 Heavy Repair & Recovery Vehicle also features a new hydraulic power unit (HPU).

Other features include a steered third rear axle for improved tight turning radius, optimised axle load distribution and complete modularity, which allows it to be equipped with additional functions and safety packages from Rheinmetall. The vehicle on display in London is unprotected, but can also be equipped with the protected Integrated Armoured Cabin if required.

The HX10x10 Heavy Repair & Recovery Vehicle comes from RMMV's proven HX family, which is available in configurations ranging from 4x4 to 10x10. The HX family is designed as a military off-the-shelf product for maximum robustness and reliability and has been tested for a service life of over 20 years. The HX family is one of the most widely used logistic vehicles for the military and security agencies and organisations. Over 20,000 units are in service worldwide, many of them in EU and NATO nations. User countries include the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Germany, Austria, Norway and Sweden.
