Training topics include:

Hazardous Materials, Waste Handling and Management Training/Hazardous Materials Business Plan (HMBP) Training

If your facility is required to submit a HMBP, your facility must also have a training program for all employees who handle hazardous materials/wastes. The training should cover safety procedures in the event of a release or threatened release of a hazardous material. The training program shall take into consideration the responsibilities of the employees and should cover, at a minimum, the methods for safe handling of hazardous materials, procedures for coordination with local, state, and federal emergency response organizations, use of emergency response equipment and supplies, emergency response plan and procedures.

Employees who handle hazardous materials/wastes are required to receive initial and annual refresher trainings. The training records must be documented electronically or by hard copy and shall be made available for a minimum of three years.

Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plan Training

If your facility is required to have a SPCC Plan, your facility must also include a training program for all employees who handle oil or petroleum products. The training should cover, at a minimum, the operation and maintenance of equipment to prevent discharges; spill/discharge procedure protocols; applicable pollution control laws, rules, and regulations; general facility operations; and, the contents of the facility SPCC Plan.

Employees who handle oil or petroleum products are required to receive initial and annual refresher trainings. The training records must be documented electronically or by hard copy and shall be made available for a minimum of three years.

Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) Training

If your facility is required to have a SWPPP, your facility must also include a training program for the designated SWPPP team members. The training should cover, at a minimum, Best Management Practice (BMP) implementation, BMP effectiveness evaluations, visual observations, and monitoring activities.

If your facility enters Level 1 status for a sampling parameter, the refresher training must be conducted by a Qualified Industrial Stormwater Practitioner (QISP). Citadel has in-house QISPs who can provide this training.

SWPPP team members are required to receive initial and refresher training (if needed). The training records must be documented electronically or by hard copy and shall be made available for a minimum of five years.
