Good afternoon. Let me start today's briefing.

Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Kim Jina will attend the 80th United Nations Day Commemorative Ceremony to be held in Busan from October 23 to 24.

The event, co-hosted by the Busan Metropolitan City and the United Nations Association of the Republic of Korea to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the UN, will bring together members of the diplomatic corps in the Republic of Korea, government and military officials, and representatives from civil society organizations.

Vice Minister Kim will attend the commemorative dinner and ceremony, where she will highlight the Republic of Korea's contributions as a responsible global power to peace and prosperity in the international community and peace on the Korean Peninsula, as well as its commitment to cooperation between the Republic of Korea and the UN.

Next, in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Korea and Japan this year, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will hold the "New Joseon Tongsinsa Cycling Expedition (diplomatic envoys sent to Japan during the Joseon Dynasty)" event from October 26 to November 11, in which 30 citizens from both countries will cycle together along the historic route of the Joseon Tongsinsa.

The departure ceremony for the "New Joseon Tongsinsa Cycling Expedition" will take place in Yeouido, Seoul, on October 27. The participants will visit key cities in Korea and Japan, including Gyeongju, Busan, and Osaka, engaging in cultural experiences and tours of historic sites, and are scheduled to arrive in Tokyo on November 11.

This 17-day event is expected to serve as an opportunity to revisit the long-standing friendship and history of exchanges between Korea and Japan, and to reflect on the meaning and significance of bilateral relations.
