NW Kansas - Today,U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. (R-Kansas), continued his "4 Corners, 50 Counties" tour with stops across northwest Kansas, highlighting investments in early childhood education, rural health care, agriculture, and community pharmacies that are strengthening Kansas families and small-town communities.
Senator Marshall's "4 Corners, 50 Counties" tour will continue across Kansas throughout the week as he works to meet Kansans where they live and bring their priorities to Washington.

St. Francis Head Start - Cheyenne County

Senator Marshall visited the St. Francis Head Start program which provides Head Start and Early Head Start programming as part of a 12-county education cooperative that offers special education and in-home infant-toddler services.
The recent appropriations bill provides $12.4 billion for Head Start and Early Head Start, while the Working Families Tax Cuts expand childcare tax credits and strengthened support for mothers and newborns through WIC reforms and the Healthy Start program.

Senator Marshall met with leaders from LiveWell Northwest Kansas, a regional nonprofit coordinating behavioral health, substance-use prevention, early childhood support, and healthy living initiatives across the region.
Kansas received $221.9 million from the Rural Health Transformation Fund to improve preventive care, strengthen rural providers, expand workforce recruitment, and promote innovative care models - helping communities build sustainable health systems.

At Larson Angus Ranch, Senator Marshall met with the Larson family, who raises registered Angus bulls to help cow-calf producers improve herd genetics and meet demand for high-quality beef.
With strong cattle markets and continued support for H-2A visas, regulatory reform, and animal health protections, Kansas ranchers are positioned to rebuild the nation's cow herd and keep producing the best beef in the world.
Greeley County Drug - Greeley County

Senator Marshall visited Greeley County Drug, a family-owned pharmacy providing prescription services and medication delivery to residents across the county.
Recent reforms have increased transparency for pharmacy benefit managers, improved oversight, and lowered prescription drug costs - helping independent pharmacies better serve rural patients.
Wichita County Hospital - Wichita County

At Wichita County Hospital, Senator Marshall discussed rural hospital sustainability, long-term care challenges, and expanded mental health services.
After advocating with CMS, Kansas Critical Access Hospitals were protected from having to repay unintended overpayments. Additionally, federal investments in rural airport infrastructure help ensure patients in western Kansas can receive emergency care when minutes matter most.

Lastly, Senator Marshall stopped at Kearny County Airport to highlight major investments improving safety and emergency access in western Kansas. The FY26 appropriations bill secured $11.5 million for a new runway to accommodate critical med-evac flights from the local hospital.
In addition, the FAA awarded $315,713 through the Airport Infrastructure Grant program for electrical vault and beacon upgrades, strengthening rural infrastructure and ensuring patients can get emergency care when every minute counts.
