Tuesday, Oct. 15, Presentation to Allow Deeper Look at Garland's Comprehensive Plan Process

Like many cities across the country, Garland has growing amounts of streets and infrastructure that need to be maintained, but limited resources to work with. At the same time, housing and transportation continues to get more expensive for residents. To keep Garland vibrant, sustainable and affordable, the community must embrace new approaches to guide growth and redevelopment in a manner that closes these resource and affordability gaps.

The City is embarking on a new Comprehensive Plan that will provide a fiscally informed vision and framework to help us down this path. The process will end with an implementation program that leverages resources throughout our community to work together toward this shared vision and desired outcomes for the City and its neighborhoods.
