Leveraging TriNetX Research Networks: From Platform Analytics to Analyzing Row-level Data
Charisse Madlock-Brown, PhD
University of Iowa

TriNetX has emerged as a powerful platform for conducting real-world clinical research by enabling access to large, networked electronic health record and claims datasets alongside integrated analytic tools. This session provides an overview of the TriNetX ecosystem, with a focus on how investigators can leverage its federated research networks to design, execute, and scale studies. We will walk through the core functionality of the platform, including cohort definition, built-in statistical analyses, and approaches to conducting rigorous observational research within an aggregated data environment. In addition to platform-based analytics, the talk will highlight strategies for expanding research beyond a single network. This includes partnering with institutions that have access to complementary TriNetX networks (e.g., linked claims datasets and broader global research networks) and understanding the types of data that can be requested for download to support more advanced or customized analyses. Practical considerations around study design, data limitations, and reproducibility within and across networks will be discussed.
