Senators Carper and Ernst Celebrate VFW’s Historic 125th Anniversary ➞

WASHINGTON, D.C.- This week, U.S. Senators Tom Carper (D-Del.) and Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), introduced a resolution highlighting the Veterans of Wars (VFW) 125^th Anniversary. Founded on September 29, 1899, the VFW of the United States is a nonprofit veterans service organization comprised of eligible veterans and military service members from the active, guard and reserve forces. The VFW assists American veterans, along with their families, following their time in service.

"As the last Vietnam Veteran serving in the Senate and a VFW lifetime member, I know how important the VFW is for veterans and their families," said Senator Carper. "Thank you, Senator Ernst, for joining me in recognizing the VFW and all of the work they do."

Senator Carper is a member of VFW Post 3420 in Delaware, and received the VFW Commander-in-Chief's Gold Medal of Merit at the 125th VFW National Convention in Louisville, KY earlier this year.
