The University of Barcelona has joined the Global University Cooperation Mechanism for Innovation in AI Education and Teaching, a platform promoted by Zhejiang University (ZJU) that brings together 78 universities, including the UB, which is the only European member. The initiative was publicly presented this November in the Chinese city of Hangzhou during the World University Presidents Forum, in which the rector of the UB, Joan Guàrdia, participated.

The University of Barcelona has joined the Global University Cooperation Mechanism for Innovation in AI Education and Teaching, a platform promoted by Zhejiang University (ZJU) that brings together 78 universities, including the UB, which is the only European member. The initiative was publicly presented this November in the Chinese city of Hangzhou during the World University Presidents Forum, in which the rector of the UB, Joan Guàrdia, participated.
The new platform aims to exchange global resources for AI education and teaching, seek mechanisms to foster talent in this field, and lead the exploration of practical ways to deeply integrate AI into education and teaching. Ultimately, the aim is to contribute to making AI an international public good that benefits all of humanity. Among the activities that the platform will organize are dialogues between experts, the development of a white paper on AI literacy, and the promotion of open courses and micro-programmes on the application of AI.
