NLG Calls for More Support to Prairieland Defendants After Verdict, as Fight Is Far From Over

Last Friday was a devastating day for the friends, loved ones, and family of the Prairieland Defendants - and for those who care about the rights of free speech, free assembly, and resistance against fascism. In what was Trump's first case against "antifa", the administration used protestors at a noise demonstration outside of the Alvarado ICE detention center as an example of what can happen to any who dare disagree with the administration's policies. This is a successful attack against anyone who dares to protest injustice in the U.S., especially the ongoing violence being committed by DHS and ICE.

The NLG remains in solidarity with all of our political prisoners, which now includes nine Prairieland Defendants. However, we know that the battle for these folks is far from over, especially as there are still more defendants with state-level cases.

We call on civil society and political representatives to make noise and funnel resources to these cases and their defendants. They showed up in solidarity with immigrants in Prairieland, including Leqaa Kordia. Will you finally get loud for them?
