OSCEOLA COUNTY, FL - Today, Rep. Darren Soto (FL-09) announced that the Osceola County Sheriff's Office received $1 million from the U.S. Department of Justice to purchase sophisticated software, equipment, and technology for the Central Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

"I am proud to announce that the Osceola County Sheriff's Office's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force is receiving $1 million from the U.S. Department of Justice as a result of our FY26 Community Project Funding request. This funding is critical to ensuring the task force has the resources to protect Central Florida children from predatory behavior online," said Rep. Soto. "Over the years, we have worked closely with local law enforcement on securing COPS grants and bringing down federal dollars to help keep our communities safe."

"The Osceola County Sheriff's Office appreciates everything that Rep. Darren Soto has done to protect children, including his support of the ICAC Task Force," said the Osceola County Sheriff's Office.
The funds awarded through the Byrne Discretionary Community Project Grants/Byrne Discretionary Grants Program result from a FY26 Community Project Funding request made by Rep. Soto. For FY27, he has requested $998,200 for the task force to acquire additional resources needed to prevent and investigate these offenses.
The Central Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force is part of a national network of 61 coordinated task forces representing more than 6,200 federal, state, and local law enforcement officers dedicated to investigating, prosecuting, and developing effective responses to internet crimes against children.
