Two People Arrested for Kidnapping Three Children

Two people have been arrested after kidnapping three children from Fayette County.

On Monday, October 7, 2024, around 6:30 p.m., Crimes Against Children Detectives received a call about three children who were kidnapped by two non-custodial family members and potentially being taken out of the state. Crimes Against Children Detectives worked quickly to identify the vehicle the children were being transported in. With the help of law enforcement partners and technology, detectives located the vehicle.

Later that evening, on October 7, troopers with the Delaware State Police were able to stop the vehicle and safely locate the children. Ashley Brown, 29, and Kolene Shahan, 50, were arrested and charged with three counts of Kidnapping 1st degree.
