CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.- The City of Clarksville's Neighborhood and Community Services (CNCS) is excited to announce its upcoming Reverse Vendor Fair, an innovative event aimed at attracting contractors and vendors of all trades to support the city's impactful Home Repair Program.
The event will take place on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, from 9:30-11:30am, at the Clarksville Montgomery County Public Library.
The Reverse Vendor Fair is designed to connect the city with contractors who are eager to make a difference in the community while growing their businesses. CNCS is especially committed to ensuring that contractors who are Minority-Owned, Woman-Owned , and/or identify as Section 3 businesses feel encouraged to attend. Section 3 business participation is an important element of the program's mission to foster inclusive economic development.
What Is the Home Repair Program?
The Home Repair Program provides much-needed repairs to low-income homeowners within the city limits of Clarksville. These repairs, often critical in nature, come at little or no cost to the homeowner, depending on the scope of work required. Services include, but are not limited to:
Roof replacements
HVAC unit replacements
Electrical repairs
Plumbing services
Structural improvements critical to the safety and longevity of the home
The program plays a vital role in ensuring homeowners can remain in their homes safely and comfortably, allowing them to age in place and maintain their quality of life. By improving homes, the program also strengthens Clarksville's affordable housing stock, benefiting the entire community.
Why a Reverse Vendor Fair?
The Reverse Vendor Fair aims to build a robust pool of qualified contractors to streamline the repair process. With this listing in place, CNCS can quickly obtain quotes and assign vendors as soon as a homeowner is approved for assistance. This reduces the waiting time for critical repairs, providing homeowners with faster relief and addressing urgent needs more efficiently.
By attending the event, contractors can:
Learn about CNCS's Home Repair Program and other internal initiatives
Discover opportunities to partner with the city for meaningful work
Network with other contractors and stakeholders
Gain insight into how their services can positively impact Clarksville's residents and housing stock
Calling All Contractors
CNCS is actively seeking contractors across all trades, including roofing, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general construction. The department strongly encourages participation from:
Minority-Owned Businesses
Woman-Owned Businesses
Section 3 Businesses (businesses owned or employing low-income individuals)
Participation in this program offers contractors the opportunity to contribute to meaningful community improvements while benefiting from steady project opportunities through city partnerships.
A Win-Win for Contractors and the Community
The Reverse Vendor Fair is more than just an event - it's a chance to create lasting partnerships that benefit everyone. By building a diverse and reliable network of contractors, we can make a greater impact on the lives of our residents, ensuring critical home repairs are completed quickly and efficiently.
Contractors who attend will also gain a deeper understanding of the city's procurement processes, enabling them to position themselves for future opportunities with CNCS.
