DONGXING, China, March 18 -- China and Vietnam jointly organized a free medical service activity in Dongxing City, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Quảng Ninh Province in Vietnam on March 17, 2026. The event represents a part of the 10th China-Vietnam Border Defense Friendship Exchange.

The Chinese and Vietnamese medical teams set up 13 medical departments on site, including cardiology, respiratory medicine, orthopedics, dermatology, and stomatology. Medical team members from the two sides received patients together, providing medical plans and treatment services for them.

During the event, medical teams from the two sides also dispatched outreach detachments to deliver medical services for patients with limited mobility. The free medical service sites in the two regions received more than 1,700 patients and distributed more than 1,100 medicines on that day.

As a regular campaign in the China-Vietnam border defense friendship exchange, the joint free medical service activity has promoted exchanges on medical and health technologies between the two countries and deepened the friendship and mutual trust between the two militaries. In the future, the two sides will continue to deepen pragmatic cooperation in the medical and health field.
