In the face of global challenges, from natural disasters to public health concerns, Avnet employees have stepped up to support communities in need through the company's charitable arm, Avnet Cares.
Extreme heat is a critical issue for people living near Avnet's corporate headquarters in Phoenix, where summer temperatures reach as high as 118°F (47°C). Avnet Cares partnered with the American Red Cross to provide employees with extreme heat safety education. The initiative also included a drive organized by employee resource groups to assemble and distribute over 100 relief bags for the city's unhoused population. The bags included essentials such as sunscreen, water bottles and cooling towels.
Disaster relief also remains a central focus. Over the past 25 years, Avnet and its employees have contributed over $630,000 to the American Red Cross. In 2024 alone, Avnet employees responded to several major crises. This included a $19,900 combined donation to support recovery from two U.S. hurricanes, €20,000 for flood relief in Spain and Romania, and €15,000 to aid victims of a car attack in Germany. Following California wildfires in early 2025, employees and Avnet Cares together contributed $18,000 to recovery efforts.
Avnet teams also continue to support blood donation drives across the globe. In Taiwan, Shenzhen, Serbia and the U.S., thousands of employees have donated to help meet ongoing medical needs. At the Phoenix headquarters alone, 80 blood drives have resulted in nearly 1,500 donations since 2000.
These efforts demonstrate how Avnet employees engage in responding to urgent needs in their local and global communities.
Join us in supporting communities in need by donating blood.
