Public Invited to Meet Finalists for Sioux City Manager Position

The City of Sioux City has announced the final three candidates for the city manager position following a national search facilitated by MGT Impact Solutions. The public is invited to attend the interview sessions, which will take place during a special City Council meeting on Thursday, July 24 and Friday, July 25 in City Hall Council Chambers (405 6th Street, 5th Floor).

The three finalists for the city manager position are:

  • Eric Swanson, interim city manager/city manager, City of Phoenix, Oregon
  • Craig Clark, administrative/executive director, City of Austin Port Authority, Minnesota
  • Andrew Barden, city administrator, City of Winterset, Iowa

Each candidate will participate in a formal interview with the mayor and City Council, followed by a 30-minute community question and answer session. Members of the public are encouraged to attend both the interviews and Q&A sessions.

All sessions will take place in City Hall Council Chambers and are open to the public. Free parking will be available from 1 - 5 p.m. each day in the Aalfs Downtown Library parking lot (529 Pierce Street).

Members of the community are invited to submit potential questions to be asked during the Q&A sessions by emailing [email protected] by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23.

The City initiated its search for a new city manager in March following the retirement of City Manager Bob Padmore, who served the community for over 25 years. Assistant City Manager Mike Collett has been serving as interim city manager since April.
