The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) today provided an update on service operations through Sunday night into Monday morning following a significant winter storm that has blanketed the region. Subways, buses, Long Island Rail Road, and Metro-North Railroad, will all be running service tomorrow to get New Yorkers where they need to go.
The MTA is reminding customers that service adjustments may be necessary based on real-time conditions and remains committed to keeping the region moving during this significant storm, which has impacted millions across the service area.
For the latest service updates ahead of Monday, customers should check mta.info, the TrainTime app, and the MTA app. All service remains subject to further modification based on real-time weather impacts.
Crews across every agency continue to work around the clock to minimize weather impacts and snow-fighting equipment remains fully deployed across the system to keep tracks clear and trains running.
Subways
For the remainder of Sunday, most express trains will continue running local.
For Monday, Subways is expected to run a normal Monday morning rush hour. During the midday, there may be some short segments of express service running local, however, this will be determined Monday morning based on real-time conditions and customers should consult the MTA app before traveling.
Buses
Currently, there are multiple bus route detours avoiding hills in areas and known trouble spots. Road personnel continue to be present throughout the bus network addressing any issues as they arise.
For Monday, Buses will run near normal service; articulated buses will remain off the roads and replaced with 40-ft standard buses.
Metro-North Railroad
Starting 6:00 p.m. tonight, Metro-North trains on the Hudson, Harlem, and New Haven Lines will be operating on a reduced schedule, running every 2 hours. Branch line connections may require longer wait times. Station waiting rooms will remain open.
Customers are advised to check the TrainTime app and listen for station announcements.
On Monday, trains will operate on an enhanced Saturday schedule.
Long Island Rail Road
The LIRR continues to operate on a modified schedule for the remainder of today. Adjustments include:
