Head of the Chinese Mission to the African Union Ambassador Jiang Feng Meets with the CEO of AUDA-NEPAD

On February 5th, H.E. Amb. Jiang Feng, Head of Mission of China to the African Union, met with H.E. Nardos Bekele-Thomas, CEO of the African Union Development Agency-New Partnership for Africa's Development (AUDA-NEPAD). Minister Counsellor Mr. Lyu Ruihao，Counsellor Mr. Wang Ligui was present.

Amb. Jiang stated that China has always been Africa's most reliable brother and partner. A few days ago, Chinese Foreign Minister H.E. Mr. Wang Yi and H.E. Chairperson Mahamoud Ali Youssouf jointly held the 9th China-AU Strategic Dialogue and launched the 2026 China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges, which demonstrates China's consistent and firm support for Africa and the profound friendship between the two sides. As 2026 marks the first year of China's 15th Five-Year Plan, China is ready to further strengthen the strategic alignment with the second ten-year implementation plan of the AU Agenda 2063, so as to jointly achieve modernization hand in hand .

Nardos stated that the China-Africa partnership has grown stronger over time and constitutes the most solid force for South-South cooperation. China's policies such as "zero-tariff"and foreign development aid have widely benefited African countries. She expressed the expectation to further enhance the strategic synergy between China and the AU, deepen cooperation in such fields as infrastructure, new energy and artificial intelligence, and take pragmatic measures to realize more fruitful outcomes.
