President Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Delegation of the Consultative Council of Saudi Arabia

President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received the delegation of the Saudi Arabia-Armenia Friendship Group of the Consultative Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, headed by Ali bin Mohammed Al-Shahrani.

President Khachaturyan welcomed the delegation's visit to Armenia, emphasizing that despite the relatively short history of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Saudi Arabia, an active political dialogue and dynamic development of high-level contacts have already been established, contributing to the deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation.

"Only two years ago we established diplomatic relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. However, it should be noted that during these two years, quite intensive work has been carried out, and today's visit of the delegation You are heading is proof that both our countries genuinely strive to create conditions for making our cooperation even more active," said the President of the Republic.

The head of the Armenia-Saudi Arabia Friendship Group expressed gratitude for the warm reception, noting in particular: "It is a great honor for me and my colleagues to meet with You. We have received the warmest welcome here. As You mentioned, although only two years have passed since the establishment of our diplomatic relations, we already see certain signs indicating a positive development in our relations."

During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues related to the agenda of developing bilateral relations. President Khachaturyan stressed the importance of establishing lasting peace and building an atmosphere of mutual trust in the region, emphasizing that Armenia is determined to continue taking constructive steps in that direction.

Ali bin Mohammed Al-Shahrani, the head of the delegation, in turn, noted that Saudi Arabia welcomes Armenia's efforts aimed at establishing regional peace and is ready to support that process through dialogue and cooperation.

Both sides highlighted the importance of strengthening political, economic, and business ties between Armenia and Saudi Arabia, as well as expanding cooperation in areas such as high technology, artificial intelligence, education, tourism, sports, and several other fields.

The two sides also positively assessed the increase in tourist flows between the two countries in recent years, noting that this reflects the growing mutual interest and trust between Armenia and Saudi Arabia.
