Secretary of State on economic mission in Argentina with a delegation that includes a dozen Portuguese companies
The Secretary of State for the Economy João Rui Ferreira visits Argentina from 12 to 14 April, together with a corporate delegation that includes a dozen companies from various sectors; the aim is to boost commercial and economic relations between both countries.
During the visit, João Rui Ferreira will meet with his Argentinian counterpart, the Secretary of state for International Economic Relations Fernando Brum. On his schedule are meetings with the Minister of Mobility and Government Infrastructure of the City of Buenos Aires Pablo Bereciartua and the Minister of Production of the Mendonza Province Rodolfo Vargas Arizu.
João Rui Ferreira will attend the "Business opportunities between Portugal and Argentina" Economic Forum, where he will meet with institutional and corporate representatives from both countries to boost and drive bilateral economic relations and identify new investment opportunities.
The Secretary of State for the Economy will also visit the Argentinian Industrial Union (UIA), an entity that groups associate companies and sectoral and regional chambers.
Increasing exports and attracting investment are two of the aims of the Secretary of State for the Economy's visit to Argentina at a time when the early implementation of the EU-Mercosul interim agreement is being planned as of May 2026.
