Lockheed Martin Continues to Accelerate NGC2 Converged

Lockheed Martin Continues to Accelerate Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) Converged Architecture to Shape the Future of Warfighting

Whether it's the data layer, weapon systems, sensors or electronic warfare capabilities, vertical integration brings it all together

October 08, 2026

Lockheed Martin is leveraging its decades of integration experience to collaborate with industry partners and the 25th Infantry Division (ID) to deliver a converged architecture supporting Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2). This architecture gives commanders the information they need to make faster decisions across every warfighting function, enabling greater survivability and dispersion on the battlefield.

Collaborating to Win

Lockheed Martin is the NGC2 vertical integration lead for the 25th ID, using the Army's best-of-breed architecture and products to achieve its mission.

During Lightning Surge 5, Team Lockheed Martin partnered with the 25th ID and industry partners such as Rune, Anduril, Palantir and Raft to begin work on bringing the converged architecture to life at 25th ID.

Bridging the Gap Between Requirement and Reality

With this convergence, the U.S. Army is unlocking new capabilities, including real-time graphics distribution, electronic warfare (EW) data ingestion, sensor-to-shooter fires execution, and sustainment. The Lockheed Martin led team drives the effort by leveraging program management and systems engineering rigor, together with subject matter expertise across all warfighting functions and NGC2 layers. We work hand in hand with the unit to define mission threads, employ the full stack NGC2 ecosystem, and integrate the common data-layer products from Anduril, Palantir, and Raft, delivered by Anduril, within the 25th ID architecture.

From working directly in the field with soldiers to collaborating with commercial partners in the lab, Lockheed Martin team members are making real-time adjustments to the implementation of the architecture to ensure that prototype capabilities are ready for operational deployment.

Real-world Scenarios

After months of collaboration and engineering, during Lightning Surge 5, Team Lockheed Martin supported the employment of the converged architecture under authentic operational stressors.

Activities focused on four critical threads:

  • Graphics Distribution: A stream of high-resolution terrain and tactical overlays to dismounted operators and command posts.
  • EW Data Ingestion: Feeding electronic signal intelligence into the common data layer for rapid threat assessment.
  • Sensor-to-Shooter Fires: Send sensor data to support digital call for fires and cross-domain fires.
  • Sustainment: Integrated reporting and tracking for persistent, authoritative sustainment Common Operating Picture.

Future milestones will expand the converged architecture to continue to provide validated capabilities ready for real-world use.
