Discussion Regarding Marion Airport Overlay Zoning District

The City of Marion presented proposed updates to the Marion Airport overlay zoning district to the Linn County Board of Supervisors during its regular meeting on Monday, September 22, at 10 a.m. at the Linn County Public Service Center (935 2nd St. SW, Cedar Rapids). After the presentation, the Board discussed whether Linn County should make any changes to its current airport overlay zoning district, which currently follows the City of Marion. The meeting included an opportunity for public comment.

If Linn County opts to change its current airport overlay zoning district, the Planning & Zoning Commission will review the proposed changes and make a recommendation to the Board of Supervisors. The Board will then hold a public hearing and three considerations for any changes to Linn County's airport overlay zoning district. Meetings for the Planning & Zoning Commission and Board of Supervisors to discuss changes to the airport overlay zoning district have not been scheduled. To receive notifications of upcoming Planning & Zoning Commission or Board of Supervisors meetings and agendas, visit the Agenda & Minutes page on the Linn County website.
