Physiology Seminar JUNE 18 Welcomes HONG S. LU, MD PhD – Associate Professor, Saha Cardiovascular Research Center, University of KY Lexington

The Department of Physiology concludes its Spring Seminar Series this week featuring

Dr. Hong S. Lu, MD, PhD

Associate Professor, Saha Cardiovascular Research Center, Department of Physiology, University of Kentucky at Lexington - will present her seminar titled

"Aortic Aneurysm and Dissection: Translational Insights from Mouse Models to Human Disease"

Thursday, JUNE 18th from 3:30 to 5:00 PM in the Link Building Auditorium, 2nd floor, at 855 Monroe Avenue, UTHSC. Refreshments will be provided.

Summary:
This seminar introduces aortic aneurysm and dissection, emphasizing insights derived from mouse models. It highlights how genetically engineered and disease models have advanced our understanding of aortic wall biology and regional vulnerability. The presentation also examines how these experimental findings translate to human disease, with a focus on pathogenesis.
