Community members invited to presentation on Thanksgiving fire safety

The City of Columbia is hosting this month's Community Classroom session from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, at the Columbia Fire Department's Training Academy, 700 Big Bear Blvd. This session will feature a presentation from Columbia firefighters on Thanksgiving fire safety, followed by a safety demonstration.

Earlier this year, the City of Columbia started a new series of interactive sessions called Community Classroom. The program's goal is to foster dialogue and build trust between community members and City government. These sessions are hosted by the City's Community Connectors and designed to engage with residents on topics related to City service lines and departments.

To learn more, visit CoMo.gov/Connect.

The Connectors are asking participants to use the Community Classroom: Thanksgiving Fire Safety Registration Form. Participant registration will ensure enough refreshments are available.

Members of the public may attend any open meeting. For requests for accommodations related to disability, please call 573.874.CITY (2489) or email [email protected]. In order to assist staff in making the appropriate arrangements for your accommodation, please make your request as far in advance of the posted meeting date as possible.
