Families are invited to get outside and play as North Port Parks & Recreation celebrates Kids to Parks Day on Saturday, May 16. This nationwide initiative encourages kids and families to discover the benefits of outdoor recreation, with activities taking place at parks across the city throughout the day.
The celebration begins in the morning at Highland Ridge Park (6225 Kenwood Dr.), where participants can enjoy donuts and pickleball from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Mid-morning fun continues at Butler Park (6205 W. Price Blvd.) with a basketball session from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The day wraps up at George Mullen Activity Center (1602 Kramer Way) with a beginner-friendly archery experience from 2 to 4:30 p.m.
"Kids to Parks Day is a great reminder of how simple it can be to get outside and connect as a family," said Yannis Rodriguez, Recreation Program Coordinator. "Whether you stop by one activity or spend the day with us, there's something for everyone to enjoy."
All activities are free and open to all ages, with no pre-registration required.
