Department of Labor to Hold National Construction Week Events


WILMINGTON - Delaware Department of Labor's Office of Construction Enforcement, along with community and industry partners, will celebrate National Construction Week, September 15-19, 2025, with a series of events highlighting workforce opportunities, safety, and education for careers in the construction industry.

The week will kick off on Monday, September 15 at the Route 9 Library in New Castle with a job fair and construction workshops in partnership with DelDOT. Workshops will cover prevailing wage, contractor rules, worker misclassification, and workplace safety.

Additional events throughout the week include:

  • Tuesday, September 16 | 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. - Student Apprenticeship Presentations at Delaware Vo-Tech Schools in Kent and Sussex Counties.
  • Tuesday, September 16 | 6 - 8 p.m. - Latinos in Construction Workshop at Avenue United Methodist Church, Milford, in partnership with La Plaza.
  • Wednesday, September 17 | 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. - Student Apprenticeship Presentations at Delaware Vo-Tech Schools in New Castle County
  • Friday, September 19 | 12 - 2 p.m. - Hard Hat & High Heels Workshop at United Electric Supply, New Castle, in partnership with the National Association of Women in Construction.
