WHAT:
Get Ready to Color Our World!
Join us for the 2025 Summer Reading Kickoff at the Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library. This all-ages event will feature exciting activities, including hands-on science experiments with North Dakota's Gateway to Science, dancing with Northern Plains Dance, animal artifact encounters with Dakota Zoo, and creative exploration with the Burleigh County Library's Bookmobile.
Enjoy sidewalk chalk games, music, and crafts. Luigi's Ice Cream Truck will be on site for those who wish to purchase a sweet treat. Don't miss our celebrity guest readers, First Lady Kjersti Armstrong and Mayor Michael Schmitz. The kickoff will be a good time to begin logging your Summer Reading Challenge minutes. It's a perfect start to a season filled with art, imagination, and fun!
The 2025 Summer Reading Challenge, "Color Our World," is not just about reading; it's about celebrating the power of art and creativity. Through Beanstack, participants of all ages can track their reading and complete the challenge throughout the summer. This summer's challenge is designed to encourage readers to explore diverse artistic expressions and deepen their love for reading and learning. By logging reading time, earning badges, and completing activities, you not only win prizes but also experience the joy of creative discovery all summer long.
