Insurance Europe is proud to continue its partnership with the European Youth Parliament (EYP), building on a successful first year of cooperation that brought young people's perspectives directly into discussions with the insurance industry.
Launched in 2024, the partnership has included a range of activities aimed at fostering open and transparent dialogue between young people and the insurance sector. These have included work on pensions, a youth innovation lab during Insurance Europe's 15th International Conference, and a Europe-wide survey exploring young people's views and expectations of insurance.
This year, the partnership will focus on financial literacy. The first phase of cooperation showed clearly that many young people do not find buying insurance to be an easy process. It also underlined the importance of helping the next generation build the knowledge and confidence needed to make informed financial decisions. According to the survey, 82% of respondents said they had not received enough financial education at school to make informed insurance decisions.
Continuing the partnership matters because an industry that serves society should also listen to those who will help shape its future. By working together, Insurance Europe and EYP aim to keep bringing young people's voices into the conversation while supporting greater financial literacy across Europe.
