Congratulations to our August Employee of the Month, Officer Brian Cortinas!
Brian joined the Kent Police Department in 2015 and was recognized this month for turning a great idea into an incredible effort for our community.
Last year, Brian proposed creating the Battle of the Badges Golf Tournament to raise money for Blue Bridge, one of KPD's community partners. What started as an idea grew into a major event with 114 golfers, support from local businesses, volunteers and members of the Kent Police Department.
After months of planning, the tournament raised more than $56,000 to support Blue Bridge and the work they do in our community.
Brian's initiative, leadership and commitment to helping others are a great example of our City values.
Congratulations, Brian, and thank you for going above and beyond!
