Motorcyclist Fatally Injured in Collision with SUV
The motorcyclist killed in Saturday's 7:45 p.m. collision with an SUV at the intersection of Gallatin Pike S and Walton Lane is identified as Juan Resendiz, 25, of Mt. Juliet.
The preliminary investigation indicates that Resendiz was riding his 2024 Suzuki GSX southbound on Gallatin Pike when the driver of a northbound 2025 Buick Envista attempted to turn westbound onto Walton Lane. Resendez collided with the front end of the vehicle and was thrown from his motorcycle. He was transported to Skyline Medical Center where he died.
According to a witness, Resendez was traveling above the posted speed limit as he approached the intersection when the traffic light turned yellow. The investigation continues.
