As part of the Foreign Ministry's economic promotion strategy, Mexico's pavilion was inaugurated at the BIO International Convention 2026 in San Diego, California.
BIO 2026 is the world's most important biotechnology industry trade fair, bringing together companies, research centers, investors, and government entities. The event is taking place June 22-25 in San Diego.
The inauguration was attended by Farid Hannan, Head of the Foreign Ministry's Economic Diplomacy Unit; Ambassador Alicia Kerber, Mexico's Consul General in San Diego; and Javier Dávila, Director General of Planning and Evaluation at the Economy Ministry.
Also present were Mayra Pérez, Director of the Biotherapeutics Research Unit at the National Polytechnic Institute; Sergio Valentinotti, Life Sciences Director at Liomont Laboratories; Víctor Sánchez, MexBio Coordinator; and Ben Moore, Director of International Affairs for the City of San Diego.
As part of these promotional activities, the delegation held meetings with the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Office of the Governor of California, and representatives of the governments of Canada, Korea, and Japan, aimed at strengthening Mexico's profile as an investment destination.
The pavilion brings together 20 institutions, including four of the country's leading pharmaceutical laboratories, research centers, laboratory equipment manufacturers, and intellectual property and regulatory advisory firms, as well as the governments of Mexico City and the State of Mexico.
In pursuing these efforts, the Foreign Ministry reaffirms its commitment to advancing Plan México, particularly in the pharmaceutical sector, by means of proactive economic diplomacy in the national interest.
