DGA Statement on Christine Drazan Running for Governor in Oregon

DGA Statement on Christine Drazan Running for Governor in Oregon

DGA spokesperson Johanna Warshaw released the following statement in response to failed statewide candidate Christine Drazan running for governor in Oregon:

"After national Republicans wasted millions on her in 2022, Christine Drazan is back for another failed run to bring Donald Trump's agenda to Oregon. Similar to Trump, Drazan has spent her time in the statehouse voting to gut funding for Medicaid, supporting a dangerous abortion ban, and pandering to far-right extremists, including January 6th rioters and election deniers. Now, she's cowering to Trump as he sends the National Guard into Portland in a clear abuse of power.

"In contrast, Governor Kotek has been hard at work to address Oregon's biggest challenges: building new shelter beds and affordable homes, providing funding for first responders and wildfire management, expanding addiction and mental health services, lowering prescription drug costs, and fighting back against Trump's cuts to Medicaid and SNAP. That's the type of strong leadership, focused on making Oregon safer and more affordable, that voters will want to stick with - no matter who gets in the race."
