Continues nightly through Friday, May 8, 2026, from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM

Contra Costa County & Marin County Caltrans has announced changes to its overnight lane closures schedule for eastbound I-580 on the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge, related to the Scofield Avenue undercrossing project. Lanes #1 and #2 (the two left lanes) will be closed nightly from the eastern end of the bridge up to the Stenmark Drive on-ramp in Richmond. These closures will continue to take place every night through Friday, May 8, 2026, between 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM, ensuring safe conditions while permanent repairs are made at Scofield Avenue. All repair work is expected to be completed by 6:00 AM on May 9, 2026.

Drivers are advised to adhere to the reduced speed limit of 40 MPH and prepare to merge. No construction or visible work is taking place on I-580 for this project.
