In first year since being sworn in as U.S. Senator, Schiff office recognized for assistance and services provided to 40 million California constituents, in eight languages and across four regional offices
Schiff also helped deliver more than $254 million in federal funding for projects across California's communities
Burbank, CA - U.S. Senator Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) accepted the 2026 Democracy Award for Best of Constituent Service today from the Congressional Management Foundation (CMF).
The award recognizes Senator Schiff's office exceptional dedication to serving constituents through effective casework, personalized support, and persistence in solving constituent issues. CMF also recognized the work done by Schiff's team in its first month, assisting constituents displaced and impacted by the 2025 Eaton and Palisades wildfires.
"When I was sworn into the United States Senate, I committed to California that I would do everything possible to 'get stuff done' for them. This award is a clear recognition that the team I have assembled across California is truly getting stuff done, every single day, for our constituents. We're getting overdue tax refunds paid out and visas approved. We're helping veterans get medical care, uniting families, and cutting red tape for small businesses. And we're helping bring back the resources California needs to improve the quality of life and move our state forward. In just my first year, my staff and I have brought more than $264 million back to hard working Californians, to improve the quality of life and the beauty and safety of our neighborhoods. I'm incredibly proud of that work, and pledge that much more is on its way," said Senator Schiff.
"Constituent service is Congress doing its most fundamental job, one person, one case, one problem at a time. Senator Schiff's office didn't just respond to requests; they built systems, trained teams, and stayed in the fight on cases that most people would have walked away from. When we say Congress can work, this is what we mean," said Jen Daulby, CEO of the Congressional Management Foundation.
In its first year, Senator Schiff's constituent services team opened 5,480 new cases for constituents across 56 out of California's 58 counties. These cases ranged from taxpayer assistance and veterans benefits to disaster aid and immigration processing.
Cases related to reclaiming benefits and other taxpayer dollars returned $10,018,480 to California constituents in 2025.
One such constituent wrote to Senator Schiff after a successful case to say, "I can't thank you enough for the assistance and help getting this document to me and out of 'processing hell.' I cried tears of joy today and your assistance brought those joyful tears."
Across four regional offices, Senator Schiff's team provides assistance to California small businesses, municipal governments, and to Californians in eight different languages.
Coordination with local governments helped secure $254,457,366 in federal funding for California for the 2026 fiscal year, for projects across rural, suburban, and urban communities reaching counties across the state.
