Digital Destination Italy 2025: results of the tenth edition of the “tourism oscars”

The "Italy Digital Destination" award ceremony is underway at the TTG Travel Experience in Rimini - the Oscars of Italian tourism, now in its tenth edition and conceived by The Data Appeal Company, an Almawave Group company.

The 2025 analysis looked at 29.5 million pieces of online content related to 772 thousand points of interest, including accommodation, short-term rentals, attractions, and dining, during the period from September 2024 to August 2025.

The rankings are based on the proprietary KPIs and the use of generative artificial intelligence language models (Large Language Models) developed by The Data Appeal Company, which can process and interpret millions of multilingual texts and return accurate insights into tourism perception.

Mabrian, also an Almawave Group company and which specializes in travel intelligence, this year augmented the project through its predictive analysis on tourism over the coming months and the analysis for the "Italians' Most Preferred International Destination 2025" award, presented to Porto.

The Tourism Oscars presentation event, hosted by TTG's Italy Arena, opened with an in-depth discussion entitled "No-click Era - From Clicks to Conversations: how AI is transforming destinations and tourism". The contributors included Mirko Lalli, CEO & Founder of The Data Appeal Company and Mario Romanelli, Sales Director Italy of The Data Appeal Company.
