ODOT seeking public comments on upcoming projects

SIDNEY (Friday, February 20, 2026) - The Ohio Department of Transportation District 7 is seeking public comments regarding the following projects:

LOG-US Route 33 over the Great Miami River, PID 124032 - The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) proposes to rehabilitate the US 33 bridge over the Great Miami River in Washington Township, just east of Russells Point. Work will include replacement of the bridge superstructure and installation of fiber wrapping on the piers. The project is necessary maintenance. The project is expected to occur in late spring/early summer 2028.

MOT-Galewood Street Bridge Rehabilitation, PID 122768 - The City of Kettering proposes to replace the superstructure of the Galewood Street bridge over a Branch of Little Beaver Creek. The project is necessary to address the deteriorated condition of the bridge. The project is expected to begin in Summer 2028.

MOT-Preble County Line Road Bridge, PID 122103 - The Montgomery County Engineer's Office proposes to rehabilitate the bridge carrying Preble County Line Road over Twin Creek in Jackson Township, Montgomery County and Lanier Township, Preble County. The project is necessary to address the deteriorated condition of the bridge. Construction is expected to begin in Spring 2029.

MOT-Welcome Park Bike Path, PID 119554 - The City of Dayton proposes to extend a shared use path from the existing connection to Great Miami River Recreation Trail at Stewart Street to Welcome Park and the Dayton Bike Yard at the University of Dayton's Welcome Stadium. The project is intended to improve bicycle and pedestrian access. Construction is expected to begin in Summer 2028.

MOT-West Third St Reconstruction, PID 116966 - Under a two-phase project, the City of Dayton proposes to install a shared use path on the north side of West Third Street and to replace the sidewalk on the south side of West Third Street, between Liscum Avenue and Gettysburg Avenue. To allow for the improvements, West Third Street will be reduced from five lanes to three lanes. The project is intended to improve bicycle and pedestrian access, calm traffic, improve roadway pavement, and encourage economic development. The first phase of the project, between Almond Avenue and Gettysburg Avenue, will occur in Spring 2027. The second phase, between Liscum Avenue and Almond Avenue, has not yet been scheduled.

Comments may be submitted by contacting the individual below. Issues the public may wish to comment on include, but are not limited to, the effect of the project on local residents, air quality, the local economy, and historic or cultural resources.
