The individual shot and killed in the Argay Terrace Neighborhood on October 27, 2025, has been identified as Derrik M. Rice, 39, of Portland. His family has been notified of his death, and they provided a photo for public release.

The Medical Examiner determined Rice died of homicide by gunshot wound.

One Person Deceased Following Shooting in Argay Terrace Neighborhood

On Monday, October 27, 2025, at 5:36 p.m., Portland Police Officers assigned to North Precinct responded to reports of a shootingin the 4500 block of Northeast 125th Place. When officers arrived, they found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers on the scene performed life saving measures until paramedics arrived. The victim was transported via ambulance to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The suspect or suspects left the scene, and no immediate arrests were made.

The Portland Police Detective Division Homicide Unit is responding to the scene to investigate the case.

During the investigation, Northeast 125th Place is closed between Northeast Sandy Boulevard and Northeast Prescott Drive.
