The Unification Ministry stands with you as longing grows deep at Chuseok
Vice Minister Kim Nam Jung visits elderly separated family member on the occasion of Chuseok (October 1)
On October 1, Vice Minister of Unification Kim Nam Jung visited Lee Bosook (age 90), an elderly separated family member originally from Pyeongannam-do, to offer words of comfort ahead of the Chuseok holiday.
Lee has actively taken part in the Ministry's initiatives, including DNA testing, the production of video letters, and surveys on the circumstances of separated families, in hopes of locating her parents and young sibling who remained in the North.
During the visit, Vice Minister Kim said, "I sincerely hope you remain in good health until the day you are reunited with your sibling. The government will devote its utmost efforts to achieving a prompt resolution of the separated family issue.
