China’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office at Geneva and Other International Organizations in Switzerland Ambassador Jia Guide Meets with H.E. Amb. Mai Phan[...]

On March 2, 2026, H.E. Ambassador Jia Guide, Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva and other International Organizations in Switzerland, met with H.E. Ambassador Mai Phan Dung, Permanent Representative of Viet Nam to the United Nations Office in Geneva.

Ambassador Jia Guide stated that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, the building of the China-Vietnam community with a shared future continues to deepen, delivering fruitful outcomes in bilateral and multilateral fields. At present, the world has entered a new period of turbulence and transformation, with hotspot issues flaring up from time to time. Multilateralism is faced with challenges. China implements the Global Governance Initiative and stands ready to strengthen communication and cooperation with Vietnam in Geneva to jointly uphold multilateralism.

Ambassador Mai Phan Dung agreed with Ambassador Jia's observation, stressing that relations with China carries strategic significance for Viet Nam. In a chaning and turbulent world, Viet Nam remains committed to growing its relations with China and is ready to coordinate with China on multilateral platforms, uphold the authority of the United Nations and international trade rules, and work for reforming and improving the global governance system.
