Belo Horizonte, Consulate General signs partnership with Inhotim

The Consulate General of Italy in Belo Horizonte and the Inhotim Institute - a contemporary art museum and botanical garden located in Brumadinho, in the State of Minas Gerais - have signed an institutional partnership aimed at promoting cultural and educational initiatives between Brazil and Italy. The agreement opens up new prospects for international dialogue and cultural cooperation.

This collaboration stems from the mutual interest of both institutions in strengthening ties between the two countries in the field of the arts and in supporting joint initiatives. The first step - official recognition and the inclusion of the Consulate's logo among Inhotim's supporters - will be followed by future and ongoing collaborations.

"We are very pleased to launch this collaboration with Inhotim, one of the most prestigious and innovative cultural institutions in Brazil. We believe that art and culture are natural bridges between our countries, capable of fostering dialogue, creativity and mutual understanding. This collaboration represents an important step towards ever closer cooperation between Italy and Brazil, under the banner of beauty, research and sharing," stated Nicoletta Gomiero, Consul General of Italy in Belo Horizonte.

The Inhotim Institute, of international standing, is recognised by the Brazilian Government as a Civil Society Organisation of Public Interest. It is a leading institution that brings together art and nature in an outstanding way. It preserves and disseminates artistic and botanical collections within an inclusive space, where different perspectives stimulate new dialogues, encouraging experimentation, research and education, while fostering debate on art, society and biodiversity.

"Collaborations such as this support Inhotim in its mission to broaden and disseminate discussion in the fields of art, nature and education. For this reason, we are delighted that the Consulate General of Italy in Belo Horizonte acknowledges the value of our programmes and has chosen to cooperate with us, thereby strengthening their international reach," said Felipe Paz, Director of Institutional Relations at Inhotim.

With the formalisation of this partnership, new opportunities for collaboration between the two institutions are opening up, with the aim of consolidating institutional ties and encouraging joint initiatives. It is hoped that this closer relationship will contribute to consistently and sustainably broadening the dialogue between the cultural contexts of Brazil and Italy.
