Washington, D.C., Jan. 27, 2025 - FTI Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: FCN) today announced the expansion of its Cybersecurity practice with the addition of regulatory compliance expert Elizabeth Kwok and investigative journalist Sara Murray as Managing Directors.
Ms. Kwok and Ms. Murray, both based in Washington, D.C., will enhance the regulatory and investigative capabilities within the firm's Cybersecurity practice. Ms. Kwok, formerly with the Federal Trade Commission, will focus on regulatory compliance and investigations related to cybersecurity, while Ms. Murray, a former CNN investigative correspondent, will bolster the National Security offering by investigating sensitive and complex matters, including in the digital misinformation and disinformation space.
"Complex technical threats are on the rise, posing risks to reputation and trust, requiring investigative expertise to keep pace with the rapidly evolving landscape," said Anthony J. Ferrante, Global Head of the Cybersecurity practice at FTI Consulting. "Liz and Sara bring a depth of knowledge that can only be achieved by their industry experience, representing the best of what FTI Consulting has to offer: experts who can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our clients to guide them through their most complicated challenges."
Ms. Kwok is a Certified Fraud Examiner and attorney with 15 years of regulatory and investigative experience. She has served as the lead advisor to senior U.S. government agency leaders on policy and strategy affecting fraud investigations and enforcement actions. Ms. Kwok joins FTI Consulting from the Bureau of Consumer Protection (BCP) at the Federal Trade Commission, where she was most recently the Assistant Director for the Division of Litigation Technology & Analysis. In her role as a senior investigator in BCP, she led high-profile investigations into a wide range of consumer protection issues, including those involving cybersecurity, incident response, fintech, cryptocurrencies, artificial intelligence, debt collection and debt relief products.
Ms. Murray spent nearly a decade as an investigative journalist at CNN, serving as the network's political and White House correspondent and leading coverage on several high-profile investigations with a national security nexus. She has deep experience covering election integrity issues, including threats to critical infrastructure, national security, misinformation efforts and lawsuits seeking to disrupt election administration.
