Congressman Begich Votes to Advance America First Priorities and Restore Regular Order Through FY26 Appropriations

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Jan. 15, 2026 - Today, Congressman Nick Begich voted to pass H.R. 7006, the Financial Services and General Government and National Security, Department of State, and Related Programs Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2026, a crucial step toward restoring regular order in Congress while advancing America First priorities, strengthening national security, and protecting hardworking taxpayers.

"In recent years, Washington has relied on stopgap spending bills that waste taxpayer dollars and avoid real accountability," said Congressman Begich. "Passing full-year appropriations bills is how Congress is supposed to work, and H.R. 7006 gets us back to regular order and ensures taxpayer dollars are spent responsibly to keep Americans safe, grow our economy, and put America First."

H.R. 7006 provides full-year funding for two additional appropriations bills, delivering more than $9 billion in savings compared to current continuing resolution levels and moving Congress closer to completing all 12 annual spending bills on time. The appropriations package includes the Financial Services and General Government bill and the National Security, Department of State, and Related Programs bill.

H.R. 7006 prioritizes economic growth, fiscal discipline, and national security while rejecting Biden-era policies that drove inflation and weakened America's standing abroad.

With House passage, H.R. 7006 now moves to the Senate for consideration.
