Overnight shooting leaves one man dead; MCU Detectives working to find suspect, motive

On October 12^th, 2025 at just before 1am, SPD responded to the area of 600 South McClellan on a report of a shooting. Officers would arrive to locate a deceased male inside a vehicle. Initial information indicated an unknown suspect walked up to the car and began firing at the victim, seated inside. The suspect fled the scene on foot and at the time of this release, has yet to be located.

It is unknown what prompted this act of violence. Detectives with the Spokane Police Department Major Crimes Unit (MCU) are actively working this investigation.
