Chinese Ambassador to North Macedonia Jiang Xiaoyan Meets with Minister Shaban Saliu in Charge of Integration and Implementation of the Roma Integration Strategy 2022-2030

On 1 December 2025, H.E. Mme. Ambassador Jiang Xiaoyan met with Shaban Saliu, Minister in charge of integration and implementation of the Roma Integration Strategy 2022-2030 of North Macedonia.

Minister Saliu commended China's contributions to improving livelihoods in North Macedonia, and expressed aspiration to strengthen cooperation with China in enhancing education and capacity building for the Roma community.

Ambassador Jiang noted that unity in diversity is a distinctive feature of the Chinese nation and that the Chinese government prioritizes the need of the people and upholds equality among all ethnic groups. She recalled President Xi Jinping's emphasis that, in building China into a great modern socialist country in all respects, no ethnic group should be left behind and all ethnic groups should closely bound  "like seeds of a pomegranate." She also expounded China's paired-up assistance measures and expressed China's readiness to share governance experience with North Macedonia and support its efforts to improve people's well-being.
