NEW YORK, 10 May 2025 - "UNICEF is deeply concerned by reports that children in India and Pakistan have been killed and injured during recent hostilities. UNICEF appeals to both countries to protect children in line with their shared commitments to the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Additionally, many schools, which should be havens of safety, have closed, disrupting children's learning. We must all come together and protect children from conflict and crisis. As the UN Secretary General urged this week, 'Now is the time for maximum restraint and stepping back from the brink.'"
