The Centrale Bank van Aruba (CBA) informs that the silver 5 Florin commemorative coin "Trupial" is obtainable as of March 5, 2026 at the CBA.
The Trupial is a striking orange-black bird found in Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao. The bird has a black head, back, and tail, wings with black and white feathers, but the rest of the bird is bright orange. The Trupial is known not only for its striking colors, but also for its melodious singing. The feathers on its throat puff up during singing, which can be heard throughout the day. The Trupial is considered a nest pirate. Instead of building its own nest, it looks for an empty nest or violently attacks other birds to take over their nest.
