City of Sparks Selects Twenty Artists to Paint Signal Boxes

Sparks, NV - The City of Sparks has selected 20 artists to paint signal boxes in several locations around Sparks. This is the third round of this public art initiative that showcases regional artists, deters graffiti, and contributes to the overall beauty of the community.

"We are thrilled to continue this public art initiative to help showcase our talented local artists," said Special Events Supervisor Raquel Monserrat. "We can't wait to see these twenty signal boxes add to the vibrancy of our community."

The following artists were selected:

Andres Martinez
Lauryn Haines
Kassandra Andicoechea
Naomi De Vore
Armen Ges
Aiyana Graham
Blair Latos
Kirenn Ohara
Braighlee Rainey
Morgan Souza
Josue Valadez
Lindsey Aker
Ursula Barton
Brooke Brown
Consuelo Tyree
Canyon Webb
Beck Neal
Captain Powrie

Each artist will be compensated $1,000 for their time and materials and will begin priming and painting the signal boxes on Friday, May 1. The project is scheduled to be completed within a month, and an unveiling event will be held on Monday, June 1.
