VIENNA, 23 January (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of El Salvador to the United Nations (Vienna), Kennedy Obed Reyes Lazo presented his credentials today to the Acting Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV) John Brandolino.
During his career, Mr. Reyes Lazo has served in various capacities, among them:
Chief of Mission, Inter-American Defense Board (2022-2025); Minister Counselor, Permanent Mission of El Salvador to the Organization of American States (OAS) (2018-2025); Vice President, OAS Committee on Hemispheric Security (2021-2022); Director for Asia, Africa and Oceania, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2015-2018); Specialist in the Area of Asia, Africa and Oceania, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2013-2015); Specialist in Multilateral Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2012-2013); and Specialist in the Area of Integration and Relations with Central America, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2011-2012).
Mr. Reyes Lazo holds a Master of Social Sciences in Asia-Pacific studies from Tamkang University, Taiwan Province of China and a master's degree in diplomacy from the Specialized Institute of Higher Education for Diplomatic Training, El Salvador. He holds a bachelor's degree in international relations, from the University of El Salvador.
