Port Clinton High School is excited to announce the Elk's Students of the Month for January 2026

Port Clinton High School is pleased to announce the recognition of two outstanding students, Caden Hanson and Austin Leis. Port Clinton Elk's are sponsoring the recognition of two outstanding PCHS seniors each month.

Caden Hanson is a 4-year varsity letter winner for boys soccer and 2 year letter winner for varsity track. He was also selected as a 2025 team captain for soccer, 2nd team All SBC, Honorable Mention North Central District, and 2025 Varsity Golden Glove award. His academic and athletic awards include SBC All-Academic for 4 years and the United States Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award. Hanson is a member of National Honor Society and has served in the Port Clinton Leadership club. He also helps during athletic events as a ticket taker and concession stand worker. In his spare time and during summer, he works at Gideon Owen Wine Company on Catawba Island. Hanson will continue his education majoring in Environmental Science. He also plans to continue to play soccer at the collegiate level. He is the son of Curt and Melissa Hanson.

Austin Leis is an accomplished student taking part in the Robotics and STEM programs at Port Clinton High School. He is a licensed remote pilot and can be seen at PCHS football games capturing drone footage. Leis was part of the first-ever drone cargo delivery flight from the Erie-Ottawa International Airport to Put-in-Bay in Sept 2024. In addition to the Robotics Team, Leis is a member of the Golf Team, Bowling Team, Tennis Team earning seven varsity letters. He has been named to the SBC All Academic Teams. Leis is involved in student life at PCHS as a member of National Honor Society, Ski Club, International Club, and is a Student Ambassador to the Port Clinton Board of Education. Next year he plans to continue his education and expertise in flying drones by majoring in Computer Science and Unmanned Aircraft Systems. Austin is the son of Andy and Ashley Leis.

The Port Clinton Elks is sponsoring the Senior of the Month program this year, and at the end of the school year will be awarding three scholarships to the PCHS Seniors of the Month.
